I'm delighted to be sharing my brand new book with you, Heartful Kitchen.

My intention in writing this book is to offer you simple solutions and delicious recipes free of inflammatory properties. In other words, big flavor with no fuss

Recipes are centered on organic and grass-fed meats, responsibly sourced seafood, organic plants, nuts and seeds, healthy fats, and rich spices.

Expect nutrient-dense, mouthwatering meals, simple recipes and satisfying flavors that will have you and your loved ones asking for more!

I have also included organizational tips, a shopping guide, and many easy-to-incorporate solutions to support your busy lifestyle and leave you feeling deeply nourished.

My journey with writing Heartful Kitchen

Heartful Kitchen been in the works for four years, and this year, more than ever, I have been investing much love and intention into bringing this book into your hands.

This book is born from my many years as a chefhealth advocatecoach, and a lover of food, as well as my personal healing journey.

My original creative project, many years ago, was to publish my grandmother’s book of family recipes, which she, my mom and my aunt had been compiling for years!

My grandmother, Mary Rose Yunis, was my number one inspiration for cooking as a young girl. She was the one who opened my eyes to the importance of attention to detail, of taste, of love of food and food as giving

However, things took a turn when my health challenges arose. While I loved the roots of the cuisine my grandmother had taught me, my body couldn’t handle the flour and butter that were part of many of my Lebanese family recipes. 

Meanwhile, my coaching, personal chef clients, and customers continued to ask me for healthy recipes they could cook at home. 

This is when I began to work on Heartful Kitchen: as a means of keeping track of and organizing my recipes to nourish my body at home amidst my busy lifestyle, and to offer those I love a simple way to do the same. 

It took multiples cycles of creation and re-creation, and ultimately, I realized that in order to suit our busy modern day lifestyles, the key was to keep these recipes as simple as can be, while remaining mouthwateringly delicious and satisfying.

This book has roots from deep within me, and within my family. It has been healing for me to create these recipes and prepare them over and over, nourishing myselfmy family and my friends.

The recipes and offerings from Heartful Kitchen are just that: an offering.

Not mine, but given to me through my own life experience: summers cooking with my grandmother, many nights in the kitchen with my mothergrowing up, my rich experience at the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute withincredible instructors and friends, international travel and assisting with opening a Spanish-American restaurant in Madrid, Spain, learning from my knowledgeable healing doctors over the years about deep nourishment, preparing foods with and learning from my talented co-chefs at Highland City Club, and continuing to let the ingredients speak for themselves while drawing inspiration from the sweet earth.
