March Virtual Deep Dive: Dance as Meditation

 

I'm delighted to be sharing my first virtual Deep Dive of Dance as Meditation with you!

What is Dance as Meditation?

The exploration of dance as a mindfulness practice as we move, and focusing on sensation to consciously deepen our experience.

To access creativity, connecting with physical movement is integrative and supportive, no matter how you express your unique creativity.

Coming into stillness and accessing primal energy through rhythm in a safe space will be the focus of our time together.

This whole series will be on Zoom, allowing access for those of you who have not been able to come to the studio to take the in-person Dance as Meditation series.


Come as you are, and dance as you are moved to as we dance through various stages in our time together:

  • Waking up the Physical Body and Breath (Body Awareness)

  • Connecting to Primal Rhythm

  • Entering Heart Space and Moving Energy

  • Creating from the Open Expanded Space

  • Softening and Grounding to Re-center


We will move, breathe, and awaken the senses. You're free to move at your own pace, and be as you are on each given day.

The emphasis is on noticing where you are and where you are moved to dance from.

This will be an internal process... intuitive, yet collaborative and structured at times.

By the end of the 4 weeks, you will have tools to carry on your dance meditation practice at home, connecting to your own primal rhythm through breath and conscious presence.

No dance experience or SoulSweat experience is needed to attend this workshop, just a love of music and movement and a desire to explore within your internal rhythm and stirrings.
